Eugene Celebration Parade

Emily was excited that her class got to carry the school banner in the parade

Elisabeth's class got to carry fish kites.

Leilani got picked to wear a kimono and carry an umbrella. She was VERY excited!

Since Alan wasn't here, Grandpa consented to march in the parade with them (they are supposed to have a parent). He got to carry an origami shape and wave it.

Mom, Benjamin and I watched the parade. The kids joined us after they finished the parade, and I made everyone watch until the Star Wars garrison had gone by and then we left. It was actually a pretty good parade this year.

Here the kids perform the song they sang in the parade.

Out of the Mouths of Babes

Robert was not minding me, and I looked at him and asked him if he was "choosing the right." He looked at me with a wickedly mischievious grin and replied, "no, I'm choosing the left!"

We were reading Robert's Star Wars ABC book. Each page spread has two letters. As I read "M N", he folded his arms and said, "amen."

My son seems to be fascinated with the word "hot." Or maybe he has been hurt by touching something hot? We were reading a Winnie the Pooh book, and when we came to a picture of Winnie the Pooh in the bathtub, he pointed to the picture and said, "hot!" Then he started blowing on the picture.

Robert was laying on my arm as he snuggled with me. Suddenly he sat up, pointed to my arm, and said, "hot!" I said, "my arm is hot?" He nodded his head and started blowing on it to cool it off.
