Kodomono-Hi

Friday night our school celebrated Kodomono-Hi, which is a Children's Day celebration in Japan.
The 4th graders performed with recorders and songs.

All the kids wanted a turn with the recorder after the performance!
Ben reminded me of the Pied Piper.
Grandma Bevans gave the kids each a ticket to use in the bounce house.

Emily went in the bounce house with her friends instead of her siblings.
They ended the night with a sweet treat. Lucky for us the machine broke down after we got our bag! It was a fun night.

This short clip shows the recorders. Notice Leilani hit the girl in back of her with her recorder during the Japanese reciting.

This clip shows a Japanese song. It is interesting to sit through a concert where you don't understand a word. Maybe by the time Elisabeth gets to 4th grade I will have picked up more Japanese vocabulary!

Go Leilani! Great post. Loved the singing in Japanese...it brought me back to my trip in high school.

I'm catching up on your blog a little at a time!
